Opera Concert on 12/30/2016

Max McGrath and Melissa ManseauThis is a few weeks after the fact, but here goes. On Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, I heard 6 talented singers present a program of opera arias and scenes at Christ Church in Exeter, NH http://christchurchexeter.org. My student Max McGrath http://maxmcgrath.com sang one of his “signature” arias, “Ah, la paterna mano” from Verdi’s Macbeth, and quite beautifully, I might add. Max also sang the Duke’s part in the Rigoletto Quartet. Other artists were sopranos Melissa Manseau and Erin Smith, mezzo-soprano Christina DeMaio, baritone Brandon Delgado, and tenor Walter Jalbert. The fine pianist was Suzanne Jalbert. This church offers a beautiful space for concerts.

I have published a photo of Max and my colleague Melissa Manseau, with whom I sang Cavallaria rusticana in Granite State Opera’s production in 2009. Melissa was a riveting Santuzza, and I was the supportive Mama Lucia, there-thereing poor Santuzza as much as Mascagni allows!
