“Notes from the Field” – Brattleboro, VT – site of TUNDI Productions’ “Wagner in Vermont” Festival.

I am so thrilled and honored to be a part of this groundbreaking event right here in little ol’ VERMONT!

Maestro Hugh Keelan and his wife, the astounding Organizer-in-Chief Jenna Rae (who is also our beautiful Brunnhilde), have accomplished a Herculean (oh, right – he’s a god, but not a Norse god) task by producing fully-staged Ring operas WITH ORCHESTRA – Das Rheingold and Die Walkure – at the Latchis Theatre in Brattleboro.

This has been many, many months in the making and the cast of principles and covers have gathered in Vermont for a chocked-full week of rehearsals and two performances each of these Ring operas.

Here are just a few photos of the rehearsals so far:

  • Jim Anderson as Loge
  • Cailin Marcel Manson as Wotan
  • Charles Martin and Kirk Eichelberger as the Giants Fasolt &Fafner
  • Jenna Rae as Brunnhilde, making a thrilling entrance from the Balcony!
  • Karl Butterman as Donner
  • The stack of gold that will “buy back” Freia from the Giants

Ho-jo-to-ho!

“Watch This Space” for updates and more photos, including a photo of moi as the Earth Goddess, Erda!

Oh, and try to make it to Brattleboro for “Das Rheingold” on Monday, Aug. 22 and Friday August 26, and “Die Walkure” on Tuesday, Aug. 23 and Saturday, August 27.
