TUNDI Withdrawal!
It’s been just over a week since TUNDI’s Wagner in Vermont Festival ended with a stunning production of “Die Walkure” at the Latchis Theatre on Saturday, August 27.
Words fail me when I try to express the joy I felt throughout the 2 week rehearsal/performance period…the artists, my colleagues, were superior in every way…talented, collegial, fun, dedicated.
It is rare that a small-ish opera company, TUNDI Productions, can mount fully-staged productions, with orchestra, of not one but TWO Ring operas. I am still shaking my head in wonder. But we DID IT!
Here are photos of our beautiful Valkyries entering for the thrilling “Ride” – Alexandra Lang, Whitney Myers, Laura McHugh, Wendy Silvester, Kate Saik, Sherami Harris, Allison Gish, and Ema Mitrović.
Hugh Keelan and Jenna Rae – the founders of TUNDI and miracle workers in terms of casting, producing, organizing this monumental feat, taking a bow after the 2nd Die Walkure performance.
Me with the beautiful Alexandra Lang (the Valkyrie Gerhilde), who I had met in July during the Berlin Wagner Group’s “Wagner’s Ring in One Evening”.
And the head god/goddess – Cailin Marcel Manson (Wotan) and Sondra Kelly (Fricka) with me backstage on closing night.
I am so grateful to my colleagues and especially Hugh and Jenna for taking great risks in terms of financing and organizing these operas – the casting, stage crew, artists, technicians were all first rate. I will never forget the thrill of working with TUNDI.
