Janice Edwards Voice Studio Performance Class
Saturday, Oct. 29 – Janice Edwards Voice Studio performance class with Charlie Blood, invaluable collaborative pianist, sopranos Janet Mailing Wittenberg and Janet Boutin struttin’ their stuff with jazz and pop songs.
Janet B. sang 3 Kern songs (one of the very BEST composers of lyrical jazz and musical theatre repertoire). Janet Boutin delivered these Kern standards with such feeling and vocal color in her middle voice.
Janet Mailing Wittenberg sang 2 beautiful jazz ballads, and also regaled us with Bolcom’s hilarious song, “Marshmallow, Lime Jello, Cottage Cheese Surprise” – a hilarious take-off of civic-minded “church ladies” of the past who created very special dishes for their ladies’ club!
